Ive been looking for a good new addition to my freshwater tank along the invert family. Well I finaly found one, its called a Flower Shrimp. The cool thing about these guys are for starters they dont hide at all. Also they are large enough when you buy them about an inch and a half, that even my large (12") pleco leaves them alone, and because they filter feed they dont have pinchers and do not feed on any type of fish! They are said to feed on the bacteria created by uneaten fish food. They are very colorful and even change colors to thier surroundings (between bright red to light brown). They also sport a cool looking racing stripe on thier backs (kind of like a '69 camaro). Very easy to keep the only thing they cant really take is cold water temps. I found these guys by accident, my local supplier said they were sent to him by mistake. Good enough for me because I got them for $2.80 a pc. Again I recomend these guys for any fresh water community tank containing smaller none aggressive fish. Good luck, I hope you can find them in your area. :thm:
