I am quite a newbie with the live plants. It's incredible what can be done to get certain plants to grow well. Anyway, I've read on here that plants produce the oxygen fish need when they are exposed to the light. What happens at night when the lights are off? Do the plants still produce oxygen throughout the night? I got a little concerned when I read this since I don't watch my fish at night and don't know if I am depriving them of oxygen at night?! I don't have any airstones or aeration in the tank as not to rid the water of precious CO2 (don't have an injector). I do have some movement on the surface of the water since I have 2 HOB aquaclear 70's.
My plants seem to be growing very nice and my fish seem very healthy but like I said, once the lights go out and I'm in bed are my fish getting enough oxygen? ammonia = 0, nitrite = 0, nitrates=10ppm. ph = 6.5
