How much should a common goldfish grow after 1.5 years? My three common goldfish are currently in a 40 gallons indoor pond and I am worried that it is limiting their growth rate. When I got them they were about 1.8" and now they are just about 4.5" long. Have this rather limited space stunted their growth?

Yes, it probably has stunted their growth. But, alot of other factors too can determine growth rate. What you are feeding them and water quaility play a big role in their growth.

Yes, feeding has probably a lot to do with it - as well as water quality (I change 30% weekly). They are fed godlfish pellets or frosen shrimp or peas 2-3 times daily. But what is the recomended size for normal godlfish after 1.5 - 2 years?
