Hello I have a 5 gallon, an air pump, and a heater. I don't have a filter for that tank. And no real light source.
I don't want to buy one.
I wanted all the info I could get on a filterless tank. Thank you. It's very hard to find. From What I found I see I need plants, I really don’t want to block the view of the fish, but if I have too some plants are fine.
A separate question, are there Brackish plants?
Things I need to know.
What kind of fish or animals. It doesn't have to be solely fish
Kinds of plants. If I need plants at all
Any and all cool ideas and insights would be appreciated and contemplated
Also I would not be apposed for it to be something else helpful to me. It doesn't have to be a fish tank. I have a large marine tank. Maybe you could suggest a breading farm for zooplankton or something cool. I just got the bug so, It's hard for me to leave an aquarium unused!

A 5 gallon filter will cost less than trying to do a biofilter without mechanical filtration. really how are you going to support your bacteria? just go get a UGF plate, you already have the air pump. If you want a "filterless tank" its gunna cost you.

You could find some really inexpensive filters that are good, especially for a 5 gallon. I had a five gallon once and i put in 2 of these $6.49 mini filters that worked fine. Try these:Mini Filter

The underground filter will do fine. Just make sure you do frequent water changes. Do they have those little carbon attachment thingies on the output tube?

thank you

I'll take that small filter in mind, it's cheap. But after rechearching this, I am kinda of stuck on seeing if I can make this happen successfully. I know I can make a regular aquarium salt, and fresh work well.
