I seem to be lacking "fish" in my aquarium. You know, the ones that swim around the tank, i mean the whole the whole tank, not just to bottom! Sure, I've got some interesting aquatic creatures in my tank but there is nothing in my tank that just swims around and is what you typically think of as a fish. I am looking for something else.

I want to get a couple more ottos but my LFS hasn't had them in stock. Once I get those will I still have room for 2 showcase fish? I was thinking about a pair of Kribs. Will they get along with my fish? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

A pair of Kribs could turn into 50 Kribs pretty quick if they are a breeding pair. And they should be OK with the other tankmates you've mentioned. I think the eels would probably take care of population control if the Kribs do breed. My FW eels seem to like very small tankmates as a late night snack.

Well depending on what your looking for you could even go with some tetra's, their cheap and small so you can get a school. If your eels start to thin them out, get some more. Maybe some tinfoil barbs or blue rams? Or go with a bichir! Once they get used to the tank they swim like crazy! Just some idea's for you to consider.

LOL. I don't know what you mean by "interesting aquatic creatures" but inverts can be just as much fun as fish themselves. After you add the fish lets see some pics.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I think I would rather go with 2 showcase fish rather then a school of tetras, I like to get attached to my fish and I have trouble doing that when they all look the same! I like the idea of the rams, but do they get territorial?

Won't those eels get too big for a 20 gallon?
Nope, they are at 6 inches now and wont be getting much bigger. Plus I have a fairly heavily planted tank with lots of hiding spaces. I did alot of research on them to make sure I bought the ones that stay small but someday I want to get a big tank and get a fire eel....so pretty.

DON'T!!!!! A bichir is not good in a 20gl. tank for the smallest will reach 12", not even alone.

However, interesting creatures bichirs are, larger tank need they.
