While researching why we can't keep snails alive in our tank, I'm coming to the conclusion that we may have copper in our tap water. None of the LFS's near us have copper testing kits so I haven't been able to confirm that conclusion yet. What I am wondering is if we do have copper in our water, what can we use to remove it?
I read online today that API's Tap Water conditioner removes it but was wondering if other products remove it as well. We use Prime during water changes and Stress Zyme from time to time as well, our fish are fine, it's just the snails that we have becoming experts at killing and we'd really like to have some snails in our tank.
Another question is, I am wondering what other chemicals people use from time to time in their tanks. Are we using too little chemicals using just the Prime and Stress Zyme? Should we also use Stress Coat?
Thanks,
Bill
