I live in an apartment and have my 55 Gallon in the living room 10 feet away from my biggest window. The tank is in direct sunlight for 1-2 hours a day. Is this something to be worried about? In the summer, it'll be in direct sunlight for 3-5 hours per day.

Got algae?
Other than algae, temp might fluctuate.

Algae is pretty much under-control so far. Some brown algae building up since the Otos are in quarantine, but that should be gone in 1-2 weeks when the Otos are put back into the 55 gallon.

Keep the tank lights to a minimum if you start getting an algae problem, otherwise it shouldn't be a problem at all. Wouild be great for a planted tank actually.

Actually, some fish -- like rainbowfish (surprise, surprise :) ) -- love it when their tank is in the sun for a period of time during the day. They will bask where the sun hits.
