Newbie to the forums, but I thought you guys would find this story of interest.
I was at a Home & Garden show today (in Pittsburgh), and among the thousands of booths was an aquarium service. They set up and maintain the tank, you just enjoy...for a monthly fee, of course.
Anyway, they had a 55 gallon freshwater set up as a demo.
I counted no less than 100 fish in that thing! Mostly smaller fish, tetras, danios, etc. I didn't bother to calculate how many inches of fish that would be.
To their credit, they had them in schools. Must have been at least 10 species. It was beautifully (plastic) planted with plenty of rocks and driftwood. A sight to behold, but shocking to someone who knows anything about fish keeping.
Surely they know that is false advertising...unless they had a pure oxygen bubbler behind the curtain (no smoking!)
The show goes on for another week. I wish those fish luck.
