As everyone knows Oscars think that they're interior decoraters and will move everything around the tank. Because of this I have 4 rounded rocks and one plant in my tank because anything else, my oscar will just tear up. I decided to put on a background because the tank was looking rather bland and when I did, my Oscar layed on the bottom of the tank all day. I was curious if it could possibly be the background, so I took it down and 5 minutes later he was up and swimming as to normal and has been ever since. You think the background had anything to do with it?

Can't say about your Oscar.
In a ten gallon tank I have one Betta.
I placed a rock formation background (paper type) on tank.
Betta would stay in top corner and not come out.
Removed background and placed plane white paper on tank.
Betta now swims all over tank and considers all areas his.
Nothing else on the tank changed and he has never had tankmates.

Yeah, kinda weird. The background has 2 different sides, so I think I might try the other and see what happens. Anybody else had similar experiences or have any ideas?
