how long should i leave the light on in an oscar tank? since there is no plant life?

6 -8 hours is good if there are no plants - can set a timer to have the lights on when you are most likely to be home to enjoy the tank.

iin my african cichlid tank with no plants, i only turn on the light when i'm home for viewing.
