could i feed a full grown oscar small peces of hot dogs and steak. i thought it sounded just a little bit odd when my grandfather told me he used to do it. could it be true and if it is true could it be healthy?

You can feed it to them, as they will eat it, but it is definatly not good for them. Land animal fats tend to solidify in water, which means they wil solidify in your fish too, definatly not good.

My discus eat beefheart all the time. :)

Beefheart is an old treat fed to discus and other fish, that was fed due to its availability. There are a number of foods readily available today that have a higher nutritional value, and less health risks.

when i was new to fish i used to feed my oscar little things off my dinner plate as well, its not healthy to fish cause its people food :duh: .
