I got my grubby hands on 2 BN from a friend, who i've raised for about four months or so now. They've been quite happy and healthy, moving about a lot, usually always visable.

Over the past fortnight i've noticed the smaller of the two is now a lot less active and hardly out in the open. Whenever it is out, it's either on my spray bar near the top back of the tank or on a powerhead which is also a dark place, and when it's on these items, it'll stay there for hours upon hours. Some days I don't see it at all.

The larger of the two I see all day every day, except tonight. Feeding time came, and out it came, from under a large piece of driftwood. I'm thinking perhaps they have kittens or are in progress of?

I don't know how old or big your bristlenose are, but I've had mine since they were about 1/2 an inch long. They have begun going through growth spurts. They are growing larger, but fascinatingly their face shape is changing and their whiskers are beginning to develop. Prior to these spurts they disappear for long periods, don't see them out or eating much at all, and then all of a sudden they're out and eating like crazy and about 1/4 of an inch bigger than the last time I saw them. They are both growing at different rates and disappear at different times.
Take care,
Mary.
