I was nipped by my 1.5" figure 8 puffer when I first put him in my tank. I named him, B.A.;ie Bad Attitude. RTR is the king of puffers and he can attest to the tempermant of certain puffer species. Last year he admitted that a giant fahaka puffer intimidated him to the point he didn't want to stick his hand in the tank to do maintenance.

Somewhat related: On our honeymoon, I was very afraid of a stupid trigger fish. I mean, the thing was only about a foot long - but it was vicious!! There were hundreds around and they were the most intimidating of the smaller fish. They lived in the ground underneath the overwater bungalows and would literally chase you if you snorkeled near them/walked past them. There was one that I think actually liked chasing me. Never thought I'd be scared by a little fish that wasn't poisonous or something.

As for the falsity of the original post, I can't say because I won't open it up! (sounds icky)
