Mine is 13... It started a LONG time ago when I was in Kindergarten. Way back then, there were 6 Amy's in my kindergarten class, so our teacher just decided to number all the students for our cubbies and whatever. I was number 13. People made such a deal about it being a bad number and that it should be skipped and me reassigned to another number, but I made a big stink about keeping it, so I did! Ever since then, all good things happen around #13.
I met my hubby on Friday the 13th. It's always been my lucky day!

I don't like even numbers...so any number that's odd is good for me. 27 has such a nice ring to it.

My favorite number is 1.61803 39887 49894 84820. I'm not kidding either. The Golden Ratio. I studied it alot in my art classes. It is the most eye pleasing ratio. For example, Marilyn Monroe's face had this proportion as well as many famous paintings.
I hate the number 9. I think it is an evil number... it all goes back to my multiplication tables. Yuck!

9 is great for multiplication, you can multiply by nine on your fingers (:duh: I realize I just mentioned doing math on my fingers)
The golden ration comes from the fibonacci sequence. I believe it is the limit of the ratio if you take the sequence out to infinity, but I may not quite remember that correctly.
I can think of all sorts of geeky answers to this question, and I am going to give one, the number e (as in the base to the natural logrithem).

Oh, and the golden ratio too (another artist). And I ALWAYS use my fingers for math. Is there something wrong with that?

Of course there isn't anything wrong with using your fingers, but look at my avatar and my name (the phys is for physics). Math is what I do.

210, 7, and 3 in that order. When I was younger 3 was my second favorite but now 7 has surpassed it.

Joe, just so you'll know: "solo un poco de espanol" or "hablo solo...." or "entiendo solo un poco..." trans. 1) only a little spanish; 2) I speak only a little. .. ; 3) I understand only a little. . . I have many hispanic students at my high school so I speak and get them to help and vice versa--it's great!!
or for fun: "soy solo un poco" I am only a little. . .
with "solamente" you're speaking my language--"spitalian"--I lived in Italy and Spain for 3.5 years in high school and still sometimes get them mixed up--you should see my kids' faces !!!! :thud:

And Mr. Science/Math JoePhys: I bow humbly to you. The reason I use my fingers for math is because that's as far as I know!!!! Right-brained artist, here!!! LOL But quantum physics--totally awesome, even connected it to art in my dissertation!!! Rock on!! :thm:

Quantum physics is hard to connect to quantum physics (at least if you really get into it, some of the basics aren't too bad). I am curious how you connected it to art in your dissertation.

favorite number is 3...
I was an only child..3 seemed to be the perfect number.
ALso....I use fingers to count & add, also have a method of counting "points" on a number when adding...like a 4 would be at each point...3 at each point..etc. I'm so freaking math impaired. Yet I did well at physics and chemistry..go figure. I blame it on my third grade teacher..she was a real witch.
