Ok, not sure if I'm doing this properly, but here goes. It is a new tank, so be gentle with me :D

10 gallons, lightly planted, running approx 1 month. Inhabitants: 3 harlequin rasboras and a blue mystery snail (I think it is a brig, but not positive). Anyone want to ID the algea on the crypt? I have been vacuuming it off, but it keeps coming back.

well it's hard to tell what algae it is

the tank looks good tho! i like it

the plants might do better and spread faster if you peal away that cottony stuff they use in the plant baskets

just be careful not to rip off too many roots and then spread out the stems a bit they'll feel much less crowded amd grow more

Thanks :) I'm pretty proud of the little thing. Yeah...that cottony stuff needs to go. It was the first thing I put in the tank and I didn't realize I needed to take it off. The plant has doubled in size so I've been hesitant at disturbing it. I'm futzing with the tank today...might as well go ahead and get that done.

What is that plant in the first picture to the far left up front very dark green? Thanks the tank looks good

It is java fern. It is looking a little rough actually, not sure why. The babies that LilAngel shared with me are growing and doing well. You can see them just to the right of the big clump. (That is her java moss on the pot too...it has doubled in size in about 2 weeks!!)Its just the clump I bought from Petsmart that is just kinda sitting there LOL! Thank you for the compliment! :D

looks good so far. You need a tripod for shooting tanks, otherwise everything comes out fuzzy. You need more rasboras, of course.

I hadn't thought to break out the tripod! DUH! Thanks Lauren!

The plan is to have 5 maybe 6 of the rasboras and something on the bottom for clean up (though the rasboras are piggies and don't let much hit the ground) and a little more interest. Originally I thought a group of 3-4 pygmy cories but now I'm seeing cool non-fish things like bamboo shrimp and ADF, not the clawed kind. So many choices, 1 tiny tank LOL! Any thoughts on snails with shrimp or frogs? Will they bother one another? This is of course all waiting on the dang cycle to end...I'm beginning to think it never will!!
