HELP! I've lost 5 guppies.-Can they catch Lymphocystis from painted glass fish?

 Out of my 3 painted glass fish, one of them started out with this Lymphocystis. Now, one of the others is starting to get these spots too. I've lost 5 guppies (out of 7) in the past 3 weeks. They didn't show any sign of Lyphocystis. Could they be dying from lymphocystis? I found a website that said it is contagious, and I also found a website that said it can't live in the water long enough to contaminate another fish. Can anyone help me? The 2 guppies I have left, seem fine.

Nobody can tell me?

I didn't know these painted glass fish weren't natural until I brought them home. (If that helps.) I don't know if I should separate them. Please somebody......:help:

Lymphcytis is contagious, but not easily transmitted to other fish. It's highly unlikely that it's killing the guppies, particularly since they are not showing any symptoms.

Let's hear more about the guppies--how long did you have them, gender mix, same source? Type?

Ok, they are fancy guppies-also all males. They came from 2 different fs. I got the first 3, then a week later, I added 4 more because they were picking on one. The first one didn't die until the eigth day after adding them. The 2 I have left, came from a fs 1 1/2 hours from here. The same place I got the 2 glass fish showing the signs of lymphocystis. The other glass fish I got from fs about 45 minutes from here. The other 4 guppies (all deceased) came from different fs. They all started swimming funny and acting funny before they died. Also, can you tell me what kind of test kits to buy? I've heard the strips are not accurate???
