Well, I am treating my tank for ich and I just thought I would share how I am adding salt to my tank. It's kind of ghetto rigged, but that’s what happens at college with limited resources, time and space, but here is what I came up with.

I previously would mix it in a 5 gallon bucket and stack up boxes to get the bucket above the tank. Needless to say, it was very heavy, took a lot of time and was rather dangerous and the bucket looked like it was going to tumble down every time I looked at it!!! Now, I have a screw valve attached to the tubing to adjust the flow of the water so it is a drip, slowing adding salted water to my tank.

Clever idea
Wish I'd have thought of it. I even have IV tubing and a bag around left over from a Halloween costume I could have stuck the salt water in. If there's a next time I'm prepared!!

I just place a cup on top of the filter or hood, start a siphon with a piece of airline tubing and tie a knot in it to slow the flow.

No need to break out the duct tape and ladder for this one

I use a 2L pop bottle on small tanks and a bucket on larger tanks. I just set them on the glass tops.
