hello pleople i just got two kribs and they already made a cave for them selves and i ithk they will sonn be having babys so i went to the sotres and brought this product which is called liquifry its like lnfoursia and the ingrediants are dextrin, pea flour, whole egg, yeast, preservatives could i use this liquid food for if my kribs have babys?? pleasre if u have any experiance of using this sort of product please reply :help: :dive:

I actually used a simular product by Wardley to feed danio fry. Mix a drop of the stuff with tank water before you add it, it sinks quickly. I used to try to make it more like a suspension in the water. Also, add some java moss to the tank and when the liquid fry food sinks into the moss, it will stimulate infusoria to grow and the babies eat that...

P.S> I haven't had kribs - so this advice might not be totally great...

I have not tried the liquifry, but have heard it is easy to foul you tank with, so feed sparingly. A better option would be frozen baby brine shrimp. The fry should be big enough to eat it right out of the cave. Live bbs is best since the moevement stimulates feeding, but you should be able to get a few to eat frozen (you just won't have as high a survivor rate).

I've distilled haching bbs to it's simplest form, and it works great for me.

materials:
length of flexible airline tubing conected to 6-8in of INflexible tubing.
small air pump
two pint glasses
salt (anykind)
brine shrimp eggs

-Fill the pint glass 2/3 full
-add about 2-3 teaspoons of salt and half a cap of brine shrimp eggs
-insert bubble wand and wait about a day and a half
-unplug wand and let mixture settle
-use bubble wand to siphon out the layer of pink (the brine shrimp) into 2nd
pint glass (use eyedropper to pull out bbs as needed)
-rinse out hatching glass and repeat step one.

Good Luck

I am a big fan of live baby brine shrimp for feeding fry. Partly because I know it is incredibly healthy for them, and partly because I like the process of hatching the shrimp.

I keep the baby brine shrimp in the refrigerator. Most of them stay alive for a day or so, and the dead ones are still safe to feed for a few days as long as they have been preserved in the brine.

Yep I wouldn't bother with the liquidfry, krib babies will be large enough to eat bigger foods. I've always used frozen baby brine shrimp because I was too scared to actually hatch live ones. But once you hatch em you'll realize how simple it is (decapsulating can be a bit of a pain though).

Try to squirt the BBS right down to the babies. You'll notice the parents will eat some up and spit it out near the nest ;)

Oh, and be prepared for a few failed attempts at spawning. Kribs gotta get some practice to make it work ;)

I've used liquifry in the past without any problems. I'd either feed it on its own or mix it with a little water and some combination of spirulina powder, decapsulated brine shrimp eggs, cyclopeeze and/or puverized freeze-dried daphnia and squirt the mixture to the fry with a turkey baster.

I just used cooked egg yoke. It is messy and I usually do partial water changes shortly after using it to keep the water quality up.
