Hey everyone, i was planning on moving my 5 silvers into my 42G tank with the rest of the fish you see below. Is there going to be any problems between any of the fish?
Thanks

sorry about that, i am not really sure what they are called, have seen them called many different things. the sharks that i have are the ones with the black body and red fins.

If all the fins are red, it is a rainbow shark. If just the tail fin is red, it is a red tailed shark. Either way, you are gonna have major probs with them fighting when they mature. I had both and they attacked each other alot. Alot of other people have complained about the same thing. If I were you, I would find a new home for one of them before they cause problems.

Right at the moment the 2 sharks are only about 2 inches, and i bought them at the same time. as of now they are doing great together, actually looks as if they "play" together a little. will there be any problems with the silver dollars and any of the other fish when i move them?

Mine were about 5 inches when I started having problems. I have never had silver dollars so I honestly couldnt tell ya but Im sure someone around here has had experience with them.

If those are regular kissing gouramis you are seriously overstocking your 42g. Kissers need a 55 to themselves.

Five silver dollars will need a 65g. Dollars grow FAST. The first three I got were crammed into a 20g (didn't know any better at the time) until January. I've had them for six months and they are over 4". The last 3 I got in January are already 3.5". I don't know if the first three are stunted, but the new ones are catching up to their size very quickly.

The rainbowfish needs to be in a school of at least six and he's going to get 6".

You need another tank. Make that two tanks. Really. Big ones :D

the biggest dollar that i have is about 3.5 inches right now. and as far as the rainbow, he seems to be hanging around the danios most of the time.
suppose another tank is out of the question at this moment, will the dollars be ok in the 42g for now?
and i am not sure of the kissers, i got them at petsmart and their sign says 6 inches, and the one at a petco says 5 inches. they are only about 1.5 inches at this moment.

Out of necessity only. He has no choice. He's a schooling fish and he needs a school.

How long is "for now"? They shouldn't be in a 10g, that's for sure. Thought about maybe taking them back?

Kissers get to 12" and they are aggressive and territorial. You'd better start thinking about getting them their own tank. If you don't keep them with fish their own size, they will eat them. Here's a good link on kissers:

Petsmart and Petco like to fudge their numbers. You'll note that everything they have says "min 20g" and that's rediculous.
