I've heard about something where you put sugar and something else in a 2 liter bottle. Anyone know the mixture? Thank you very much.

Check out the Archives at the bottom of the main forum page.
Here's a link for jellow CO2, it essentially does the same as the original mixture, but it lasts longer.

I used the sugar/yeast method because I didn't hear of the other one. I filled the 2L bottle about half way with warm water, added 4 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of yeast and shook it up. It's very easy to do. I think I might try that jello method if it lasts that much longer.
Sometimes how long a bottle lasts isn't as important as how much CO2 it's putting out. I can only get 8 days out of a set of bottles and then they start to lose their effectiveness. My pH starts to rise, and I have to make up a fresh batch. Find your target pH and try not to vary from it. Also, you might get a pH reading in the morning when the lights first go on, but it will rise during the day as the plants use the CO2. When this starts to happen it's time to change bottles. Many people with multi-bottle set ups change a bottle every 4-5 days to keep the flow constant.
