My oto died, LFS squashes fish.

One of my new oto's died today. I got three a week ago. Yesterday it looked like he had a swim bladder problem. This morning he was dead. I took it back to LFS because they had a 14 day guarantee. I was surprised, I took some tank water assuming that they would want to test it before honoring their guarantee, but they didn't, just gave me a new fish. When the person went to get me the fish (it was the manager), she just shoved over a big decoration that was in the tank to get it out of the way. I didn't wait to see cause I was in a hury, but I sure hope she didn't squash any fish.

Sorry your oto died, hope the new one fares better. I've got a trio of otos I've had for at least three years, they're fun little guys :)
I onced helplessly watched a LFS worker catch a panda cory, drop it on the floor and squash it in his fingers to pick it up. Not all LFS staff are incompetent (I work with some great people) but it seems that when they are, they REALLY are.

The LFS I prefer to go to, (which is far away, and I don't think he has oto's) is so good with is fish, they almost swim into the net for him. (Not really, he is just that good at catching them.)

He seems to be doing good. He thinks he is a zebra danio though, he was playing tag with them. I suppose they do have similar markings, and he may have thought they were just bigger oto's. The other two seem to have accepted them too, the three of them were swimming around together while I was doing a water change. I think I got me a good one :D
