Paint the back of my tank

What is the best way to paint the glass of a tank. I used spray paint on the back of my 20 gal. and it looks good, but god forbid something touches the paint, it comes off.
I now want to paint the back of my 100 gal. and don't want to worry about things brushing up against the paint and it coming off.

When I painted the back of my tank I used a latex acrylic paint and a paint roller. This works great. The paint stays on like it is suposed to, it doesn't come off if anything touches it. Just make sure it is an acrylic latex based paint and it should work fine for you.

Cover the finished paint with an acrylic sheet. No dings, no muss, no fuss........

make sure you clean the glass with rubbing alcohol first then do 3-4 coats of latex paint. it'll still come off if you wanted to get it off... but it probably works better than spray paint.

If you have not already painted your tank, you may be interested in spray paint for plastic. I used a Rust-Oleum paint for plastic on my glass tank, and it sticks very well. The paint for plastic does contain acetone, so be sure to not paint any silicone as it can be harmful. But other than that I really like the look of the painted back.
