its eather ich, but when my cichlid did this and rub themself once in a while it just means they are clameing their spot.

When they shake is their mouth open?

Well vibrating in one spot is usually either a show of dominance or a courtship ritual. Rubbing themselves on the rocks could be as well, but usually is an indicator that something is bothering them, or its an onset of ich.

What are you water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? How long has the tank been set up? Whats the size? How many fish? What fish?

Don't know if its the same shake but all my africans do it. Had some of them for over 4 years so I know thier healthy. I think its more of a warning to the other fish but not sure.
