my 20g sprung a leak and had to quickly move them to the only other avail. tank I had which was my 5g hosp. (which I had fortunately just washed); bought a 55g, set it up with stress sol., put all the ornaments and plants in from old tank as well as about 5g of their water, and some pH buffer because my water pH stays in the mid to low 6's ; checked chemicals w/ 5 test chem. strip, and water temps; added fish when they were all about the same; my problem is FOAM and lots of it, being made by my airstone and I have in on very low! What can the cause be???

you didn't use soap did you?

I notice that if I put in my chlorine remover, Aquasafe, into a bucket while I'm filling it up it will foam up quite a bit.

Turn off the bubbler. It's not needed. So if it is causing a problem turn it off until you find out what is creating the foam.

NOOO soap, but I did use StressCoat. The airstone has been turned off for several hours now & most of the bubbles are gone. I will restart it again in a day or two. Thanks!

are you sure it's foam and not just millions of tiny air bubbles? it's common for all new tank that was just filled with water
