My male acara is trashing my female, what should I do?

So my male is jacking my female. I have a 20 with about 20 platies in it and no heater, a 30 with blue rams and amano in it, and a 10 with baby acaras. what should I do. put the male in the 20 and all the platies in another tank? or just let him chill with the platies. actually, give me advice, ill put him with the platies, and Ill go from there. see if he doesnt eat them. but shoot away.
