ive never had a planted tank before (all fake plants) ive always like how real plants look and when i was out shoping for some algea wafers i saw a plant tank at my lfs and i randomely bought three bunches of cabomba. i would like to keep them so information on general plant keeping like light, fertilizer, temp, etc would be appreciated. what other plants would go well with these? and do i remove the rubberbands that they placed at the tip of the plant?

Yuo don't specify what type of Cabomba you bought, I found info on three varieties over at a dedicated plant forum.

Most likely it's, CABOMBA CAROLINIANA VAR. CAROLINIANA info on that one is here:

and theres:

and:

It seems to be a plant that will require a fair bit of light, and could be a bit harder than some to keep, though with a lot of light it should grow pretty quickly.

it looks like the first one.so whats the upkeep on it then? also i forgot to mention i bought some tetra plant food/fertilizer and i was wondering if it works or if i even need to put that in
