I just got back from my aunts yesterday and while I was there I got 3 bettas. My aunt also gave me a 2.5 g tank she found at a thrift store (wich is why I got the bettas, but only planned on 1). I got 1 male and 2 females (becauase I wanted to have a pair, then remembered reading that it's better to have 2 females then 1,wich I now doubt). when I got back to my aunts from the petstore I still woundn't be coming home for a day so the females were floated in thier cups in a guppy incubator in my aunts tank(to keep them warm) and a few hours later I let one swim around in the incubator. the male was kept in the 2.5g wich was heated by his cup filled with hot water and floated in the tank. the next morning I knew it would be best to change the water in the cup with the one female in it, but just let it go in the incubator with the other female. soon after the one that was originally in the incubator (the larger one) started atacking the on that was just let go (the smaller one). So the larger female went back into it's cup so the other one could have some filterd water for a while. when I got home the male went back into the 2.5g(they were in there cups for the trip home) and the females had to stay in thier cups for a little longer because I had to go to petsmart to get some stuf and I wanted to watch the females to make sure they did'nt kill each other. when I got back home from petsmart. I put the smaller female in the 5g I had waiting about 5min. before the larger. the smaller one atacked the larger for a bit but seemed to calm down. the next day (today) The smaller female was chasing the larger whenever it saw it so I moved the smaller one to my one of my 10gs. So... the question is, is this agression teritorialism, becauseof the size (most likely not, they both atacked each other) or the individual fish(same as before)? I personally think it's teritorialism. sorry for the long post, but only including the question and no other info woun't make any sense.
