I just bought a juvenile lima shovelnose cat and i was wondering how i should go about feeding him...he is about 3-4 inches long...the person at the aquarium store told me that frozen bloodworms should work and i happen to have a California Newt so that works out...also i already have larger tanks in mind hopefully a 55...how long do they take tt grow to full length...i have heard 12 inches...

Mine grew from 4 to 14 inches in less than a year, and they can reach 18". He was in a 55g cichlid community tank and ate the same feeder guppies the cichlids did. Very interesting catfish … It will need some dense plant "jungle" areas to feel at home, and they would prefer to be kept in groups (they form huge schools during the spawning season in nature). Of course, a group of 14-18" fish will need a honkin' big tank.
