I am looking into getting an eclipse 5 corner tank. I wanted to know what people who own these tanks think. The reason I posted this here instead of the freshwater products thread is because I also wanted to know if this would be a nice tank for a Betta. I plan to get some quality Bettas(for breeding), but if I am going to pay the money for the fish I at lease want a good heated filtered tank to put it in. I hope to keep some live pants in there also. I know it isn't too small,(slightly larger than the 2.5g a Betta needs) but is it going overboard? I found it for a very good price, so money isn't a huge issue.

Marala,

Where in PA are you again? I've got an Eclipse 5g corner w/ filter & Bio Wheel that I'm not using. The back is painted black, I *think* the front might be a little scratched on the inside, but I'm not sure. The Bio Wheel is floating in my 20g, so there might even been some good bacteria on it.

If you want it, foot the shipping and I'll send it to you. I think it would be about 10$. ATM it's just holding some gravel I can dump out. I'll put the wheel in a baggie w/ water. Worth a try :)

Make sure you clean it with bleach and rinse well and treat it with dechlorinator in the final rinse. If it's too scratched and whatnot for you, you're only out 10$.

PM me your address and email addy if you want it.

Lemme know.

I got one of these for my sisters kids to keep a betta in.

"Einstein" the betta has been in there for a couple of months so far, and he looks just about as good/healthy as a betta can look I think.

He enjoys the space to swim, the decorations for lounging, and the output from the filter is not strong enough to push him around.

I think it's a nice setup for a betta.

Thanks, I was worried about the filter being too strong, I am glad that it isn't.
