Due to some unrelated water damage in my house, I need to move my 135g reef ASAP. I'm moving shortly and had already made a deal with a friend to take the contents, but his tank is in week 1 of it's cycle. We put some of my live rock in a fluval, put in two bags of live sand among other, and he has purchased about 30 lbs of LR. I need to move this tank today, and my only choices are try and move to his tank, or move the tank out in the garage.

So what should do? I have alot of buckets, tupperware containers, and even two brand new trashcans. I'm really worried about a big die off having to move this so quickly.

I was thinking I would bring all my LR without corals to his house first, sprinkle some of my sand around, then get the fish, and last the corals. He lives close so making a few trips will not be a problem. Should I fill the trashcans with as much water from my tank as possible and do a water change in his tank with it?

Otherwise I will take everything out, move it to the garage, and wait until his tank is ready.

Please help. Thanks.

if it was me i would put it in your garage untill his tank has matured if you try his tank it will be a big risk ....are the trashcans tin or plastic if they are tin then they would contain zinc and copper
