i had my pair of halfmoon bettas for more than a week now, the male use to be active in making its bubble nest, but for 4 days now he stop, he's active on just swimming around the female. should i remove the male out of the female sight for couple of days?, then bring him back, the female is getting a little bit buffy with eggs but im not sure if i should release her without the bubble nest. he swims around her by the hurricane glass like crazy but thats all he does now, the old bubble nest he made is almost gone and he dosen't construct them anymore
are you keeping them in a tank where they have access to eachother all the time?
if so you need to get a divider- eventually they will attack eachother

Kyle3: I had a pair of bettas for over a year with no problems, exept them dying in the end. I don't think you need to worry about them atacking each other. However from what I've read almost all (maybe all) labryinth fish can be very variable in their temperments. they are not all alike, and I may have just gotten peacfull bettas.
according to all the betta breeders on this forum and others male and female should be housed together only temporarily when breeding is the goal and under close supervision. i tend to think breeders now best and that is why i posted the information i did
like you said every betta has a different personality but getting lucky is not a good basis for rules of fish keeping
cheers -Kyle
