I got a lot of fish and they are doing well excpet many have died. The heater had too much power.

i would argue that in fact, they are NOT doing well at all. i don't understand a heater having too much power .. that mean you roasted your fish? have you checked your water quality with regard to ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? how often do you change the water? how often do you vacuum the gravel.

exactly what temperature was/is the water?

goldfish are not tropical fish, require significantly cooler water than your other fish and if this is one of the fish still alive, you need to move it to a tank which maintains the temperature in the 60's
