grr stupid clown loaches

ok well i love clown loaches and i know they get ich at the drop of a hat. well guess what they did haha. in my new 20 gal soon to be qt tank for my 235 when its all set up. now im not mad kinda tho. i just got(2) them yesterday (rescued is more like it) from my lps they are about 1.5"-2"s. im adding ich x the only stuff they had for ich well ill keep up the treatment and water changes. and keep everyone informed.
glad that the stupid bandwith 509 did pop up when i tried to log on today

oops forgot to add this. the only thing that made me mad is im gonna was gonna get a fire eel and tire track eel next week. might just have to wait another couple days depending on how fast this ich last

If you have good water circualtion you'd be better off raising the temp to 86 degrees and using salt at 2 tsp/gallon. Its less stressful on the clowns and the treatment only lasts about 10 days.

had some new clowns w/ich and heres what I did to get rid of it in about a week w/no medication:


1) water changes every day = pristine water conditions
2) temperature at 82 degrees
3) gradually increased salt content over the course of the week, equal increases every day, up to 2sp/gallon on the last day.

I don't even use salt, I just bring the temp up to about 85 for several days and that takes care of it.

sadly these clowns are very small and one has not made it i just did a water change and the temp is 84 85 degrees. i dont think they are gonna pull threw because they are so small and the lps where i got them from are stupid. i basicly rescued them they were in a tank with dead fish and it was way overcrowded. i hope the last one pulls threw well see

All the more reason not to buy fish in a tank with dead fish and to inspect before you buy :sick:
