Hello,
I currently have a 30 gallon community tank with some marbled hatchets, a Bolivian ram, blackskirt tetras and a South American bumblebee catfish (Microglanis iheringi) at about 1.75". My LFS recently got another shipment of bumblebee catfish in, as well as some nice looking panda corys (Corydoras panda).

I am wondering whether or not I should add either a trio of panda corys or another bumblebee catfish. Also, would it be beneficial for me to add some sand to the substrate (right now I just have aaquarium gravel of a smaller diameter).

Thanks a million,

IME Microglanis are not social, but they at least don't seem to resent each others' company. I like the way they look, so I have a couple in together. I never ever see them unless it's feeding time, and then they're only out long enough to grab a mouthful and jet away. There are cories in there too and I've seen zero compatibility issues. If I were you, I'd go for the pandas, so you'll have something to look at. Of course, I'd also go for another bumblebee, because they're beautiful.
