Hello,

Long time no see, well, really only in the freshwater forums. I've fallin in love, so to speak, with goldfish. They just seem so goofy, lol. Anyway, I've inheirited a 75 gallon tank. About how many goldfish could I get away with in one of those, and I am also planning on placing some Dojo Loaches in there too. How many of those could I do as well?

Thank you so much,
Shane

Are you interested in the common types or the fancy types?
For commons then really only two as they grow really big and need plenty of room to swim. If you plan on putting them in a pond when they get bigger then a couple more, but personally i dont think common goldfish should be kept in aquariums less than 100 gallons.
If you like the fancy type then they are a lot slower and are quite happy with less space to move in. They can grow to 10 or 12 inches but most max out at 8 or 9 so you could get 5 of those and a few loaches.
Filtration must be excellent as well with lots of media and as close to 10 times the tank capacity and more is always better.
Hope that helped.

I would put 500

:) :) :joke: :joke: all kinds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

LOL
goldfish are adorable!!! they are so sweet and peaceful.
are you more into the lion head, ranchu types?
the bad things about goldies is that they are messy. you need an over sized filter for them and frequent water changes.
i believe its one goldfish per 30 gallons, which is pretty crappy i know
if you get little ones they will get big at a pretty decent rate
safely you can get 3 goldfish in a 75g
would i do that??? heck no....id get about 8 in a 75g but thats just my personal opinion :)
