Hi, this is my first time posting on here. We have a 55 gallon tank with what was sold to us as a tiger cichlid. We bought a red devil and a blue convict. The blue convict looks just like the "tiger" fish we had. All of a sudden the "tiger" one grew a longer fin off the back of her/him and we noticed them staying in a barrel in the tank. Now we have a barrel full of little blue convicts that both the mother and father are protecting. I don't know what to do to raise these babies. Do I seperate them? what do I feed them? Will the parents eat them? How long do I have?
Sorry for so many questions but I would love to save them.
Thank you.

Thank you.
I just got back from the fish store and they told me I did not need a seperator, just a sponge for my filter. I hope this is right???

the sponge is to go over the intake of your filter to keep the little ones from getting sucked up into it and most likely killed. heads up, many more babies are to come. swarms, in fact.
