that tank size is too small.... a bristlenose catfish needs atleast a 30gallon... but a pair of pearl gouramis would do ok in a 20gallon

Pearl gouramis can be very agresive and get fairly large (4" +), bristlenose catfish can reach 5" or more, and bronze corys are one of the larger cory species, at around 3".
For a 20g I'd go with dwarf or honey gouramis, a small group of otocinclus catfish and small corys like pandas. Same types of swimming/eating patterns, appropriately sized for a smaller tank. Add the guppies or a school of neons and you've got a gorgeous tank that's not overstocked :)

oOo... honey gouramis are nice.. I love them, right now I have three, and planning on getting atleast one more...
a pair of them would do awsome in a 20gallon with some cories and a school of neons..

pygmy cories are a good choice... they stay small, so they'd do great in a small tank like your 20gallon...

with 6 cories, 6 barbs, and 2 guppies you will be ok!
how bout this 3 guppies 5 cherry barbs and 7 pygmy cories?
that will be just fine although on personal preference i would get one of the smaller gouramis rather than the barbs
check out this site (http://www.fishprofiles.com/profiles/) for good fish profiles it will give you a lot of fish to choose from and remember you can buy online you're not limited to what's at petsmart
Cherry barsb are great fish and stay fairly small. They are aggressive as most barbs are, though. So make sure to get amin of 5 if you go with them. That keeps the aggression within the group.
Guppies are small and a fine choice as well. Either get all males or all females unless you want some babies. Most likely with a gourami or barbs the babies will be eaten pretty quickly though.
