What wattage is good
I have a 55 gal SW tank can i use a 9watt sterilizer?

You could, but 9 is a bit small, I would get 18.

I would go with one of the 9w double helix. They sound like a good idea to me, but I would drop the flow rate. They say something like 200gph, but I would use a rio 200 with it.... Its not just the wattage of a sterilizer tha makes it work, dwell time is just as important.
