I got my python, and my sink does not have the same size threads as teh brass adapter that came with my python.

In the parts list it shows something that look like a plastic adapter that says 2-piece faucit adapter. it shows some coarse theads that go into the T-Line on one piece then from thise piece it shows a another with 2 sets of smaller threads.

Well mine did not come with this piece, instead it came with a brass adapter that does not fit my faucit, it is too large of a diameter. The brass piece screws into the t-line and that's it....

The part I am talking about says Fig 1 part A Two-Piece Faucet adapter.

I went to Petsmart to get the correct adapter and they had both plastic and brass ones and they were both the same size WTH... I could not find anything that resembles to 2-piece in the instructions.

Try to find a plumbing supply wholesaler. They have all sizes of adapters. I had to do the same thing for a tank I maintain at an elementary school with low-flow plumbing fixtures. They have an odd-ball size on their faucets and the plumbing supply store had a stainless steel adapter that fit my python.

don't buy anything! that brass peice uncrews from the green plastic and has a few different ways to attach also you can pull out the rubber washer and find other threads

the python company tells people to call before going out and buying more adapters b/c this is a common problem and usually you just haven't discovered that what you need is already there

so call them they'll walk you through it and if you really do need an adaptor they'll be able to tell you exactly what to get!

The python does not come with a 13/16 male adapter which is the one I wound up having to buy.

Mine didn't fit and I called the Python help line. The lady told me not to order parts from them because it's too expensive, but go to your local hardware shop with the pieces and get something there that fits.

I bought my fitting at Lowes in the plumbing section for 2$.

I wasn't gettin' snippy, Kyle. In my business I have to be able to adapt to any faucet available. If I can't, I get to do the bucket dance. I'm gettin' too old for that. I tried Lowes at first but couldn't make any of their stuff work then went to Moore Supply. They've had every adapter I've asked for. BTW, The last Python I bought, about a year ago, had white plastic adapters. No metal parts at all. Have they changed?

Hmm I will check lowest but I don['t think they will have it. I don't know of any plumbing supplies in my area.

I need the male piece not the female, the one in my faucit is just smaller.

What I really need is the one in the picture that comes with the instructions!
it says it is included but it is not. it looks liek it shoudl thread into this brass piece if I were to remove the rubber ring, but I don't have that piece grrr.

Wen't to petsmart and non of them include this piece though, yet there it is right on the instructions...

Yeah exact same thing just happened to me!! I checked EVERY pet store in the area and no one carries the universal adaptor piece that I needed so I just ordered one from Doctors Foster and Smith.

The newer ones are made of brass and the old ones plastic. They had a lot of problems with the threads in the plastic pieces stripping really easily so they changed it. Be REALLY glad that you got the brass!! :)

oh man...this will be the 3rd over from them in less than 30 days... Kinda of a waste of shipping really. I'm having second thoughts on the whole Python thing maybe I will just return it until I'm ready to make another online order.

Well I will make a trip to lowes first that thing does not look like it is anything more than silicone tubing and a hose clamp...

Don't return it, it's worth every penny IMO!! Just go to Lowes, or where ever, and show them what this piece looks like and have the piece that you connect to it and they should be able to work something out!! It's worth a shot!! Give it a try!! :D

Have you called the Python people? If the instructions say it should be included in the package and it isn't, then frankly, you got ripped off. Call them and make a bit of a fuss and they may send you one free of charge.

Actually, another possibility... I don't really know how Pythons are packed, but is there anyway that the piece you need could have just been stolen? Crap like that happens over here all the time-- my test kits came without test tubes because someone lifted them all. If you think it could have just been taken, ask for an exchange at the store.

You're not having much luck with any new equipment lately, are you?

The Python is worth it...persevere with finding the proper piece. My Python came with the brass adaptor, which works on my bathroom tap, but not on my kitchen tap...I'd need to buy a different adapter if I wanted to run it from my kitchen, and I believe the instructions mention that, in some cases, a universal adapter might be needed and can be purchased separately.

There is no way it is missing or was lifted like I said I checked the others at the store. It just seems odd to me it is on the instructions and not included! I willt ry to find some time to go to lowes in the meantime Ill jsut use the good ol bucket. I don't have any 100 gallon tanks jsut a bunch of small ones.

As for equipment lately :mad2:
The Aquaclear has quieted down some but it still not what I would consider a quiet filter. And non word back from them yet either.

Your not going to believe this...but...

Lowes had the adapter I needed (001) it was male to male a male.

I was so excite that when I got home I connected the python up and turned it on and water sprayed EVERYWHERE! Right out of where the green plastic piece attaches to the T-line...

Upon Further inspection I can see the plastic is cracked inside (where the 2 pieces are joined) it looks fine from the outside but is cracked and you can see if you move the piece around a bit cause it flexes ....damnnnnn, figures...

So Back to Petsmart AGAIN, I have the worst luck...
