View Full Version : male guppies? Help!
A friend of a friend just dropped off 12 male guppies to me. I have temporarily put them in my ten gallon quarantine tank. Never having "experienced" guppies, I am not sure if a person can keep all males with no females. I must admit they are quite pretty and will purchase a larger tank for them if i can get by without females. NO babies!!!
Can you keep all males together???

Yah, they should be fine:) It's pretty common to keep only one sex if one doesn't want any babies. 12 males is too many for a 10g, imo, though - but it seems you've got that covered:)
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know it sounds silly, but am really at a loss with guppies. Yes, I will buy them their own larger tank. But NO babies!!

It would be really hard if you did want to add females b/c you would have to add 12 or more b/c after a while if there is more males than females the males will start to stress the females which will kill them overtime.
