I have to thank you Robert, for your tireless efforts to try and educate confirmed hard-heads like me. I'm doing a planted tank without substrate heating for the first time. I think it's going well.

I'm finding that many of the myths on which I grew are just that. From what I've learned from you, John, Eileen, Dave and many others on this forum I now have a deeper understanding of things I've been doing most of my life without really knowing why I was doing them.

This dispels another myth. Apparently one CAN teach an old dog.

LOL! I'm an old dog, and definitely still learning.

In this hobby we all seem to be subject to accepting "cmmon knowledge" and acting on it without question. By contrary inclination and by training, I have a hard time with that. So I inestigate and I test. It may keep me off the streets, but usually in trouble on the boards. :)

I'm glad that the new setup is going well.

Well, thank you wesleydunder! However, I have to point out that it's those other people, and RTR especially, who thudded through MY brain with this stuff :D

So, if anything, thank those folks in your post and djlen and plantbrain.

Without them I'd still be a clueless moron. Now, I'm just a moron!
