Hi, I currently have a fish only tank containging 3 domino damsels, 1 green chromis, 1 rusty dwarf angel and 1 maroon clown all getting along well with good water quality (100 litres). I now want to start adding 1 or 2 corals/ anemones. Any suggestions, idealy I want ones that are easy to look after (although of course I relaise none of them are "easy") and are ideal for first time reef aquatiums. I have good T5 lighting and an external filter.

All suggestions appreciated

Hi Andrea.

I am in the same situation as you. I want to add an anemone for my maroon clown to host. and i have 3 damsels as well as the lighting needed for an anemone.

Have you found any answers or have you purchased any coral or anemone and how are they doing?

If anyone has any suggestions for an anemone for a med size maroon clown, they are welcome!

DO not get anemones, they have VERY poor survival rates in captivity and have very high lighting demands. I can not tell you what kind of corals to get, cause' you did not specify lighting(and niether of you specified how much), niether of you speciefied water params, substrate and rocks, filtration and water motion ("external filter" means nothing to me, give me some details),what your plan is as far as dosing and what corals you plan to keep, or how long the tank has been up.

Before adding any corals to your aquarium read the Reef Keepers FAQ, and as much material directed to marine aquariums and reefkeeping as humanely possible. Personally, I doubt wither of you have put enough research into this hobby to keep anything more demanding than mushrooms and fish, as you should already have a detailed plan for your reef aquarium if you are ready to get into corals.

P.s. my meember page has links to some good sites, that should help you out while your doing our research.
