floating plants

Water lettuce. Very pretty, great fry cover.

I second the water lettuce. I just got some a few weeks ago and i love it.

I have something that looks like water lettuce, but is much smaller. I believe this is the plant, Landoltia (Spirodela) punctata. It grows like crazy and when it gets caught in the current and goes under it has a beautiful irridescent sheen. The store I got it from advised against it because it does grow so well and can quickly block out the light from your other plants, but I just keep mine under control.
Good luck,
Mary.

i have indian fern, because its almost impossible to kill... i have to remove a bunch of it about every month though...
it not only floats, but once i got some on my floating platform for my 10 gal, and it started growing up, like a land plant.. so its interesting...
