I have four cories in my 30 gallon, and I noticed a litle while ago that one of them would occasionally sit on the suction cup between the heater and the glass up near the top of the tank. Now I look and I see 3 of them doing this, two of them sitting on top of each other. Does this mean the temperature is too low in the tank or what? I've got it at around 76 degrees. Other than that, they're acting completely normal - if I scare them away from the heater, they go back to the bottom and do their regular cory thing.

never seen that, i've seen mine sit on the leaf of a plant though, just chillin.

how about if they go up to the surface and float there like they're dead? but they're not, it looks like they're just sticking they're gill out to breathe. probably what they're doing. it only happend when i changed their water, not they're back at the bottom

My cories like to be buddies....I'll see them bunch up in a tight spot all the time, even on top of each other like you are seeing. I think its fine...as is your temperature - 76 is fine.

They might just think it is another nook to pile up in. Do they have hidey holes at the bottom of the tank? Most cories are actually better with cooler water so I would not think it has to do with your temperature, seems fine to me.

Ours are weird, too--they line up on the deck of their little pirate ship
and sit there while it rocks back & forth. I used to think bettas
were the craziest fish---sheeeeesh!
