Apparently they have a substitute or second breathing apparatus in the form of their intestine, which they use to derive oxygen from the air.

I have seen this on a few websites durring my research....but not all...
Can someone clarify if this is fact or just fiction.

Yes, I often see them dart to the top and take a gulp of air. I think it is called a labirynth organ or something like that?
