Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things..

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987, or so...


They are too young to remember the first space shuttle blowing up on liftoff.


Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.


The CD was introduced the year they were born.


They have always had an answering machine..


They have always had cable.


They cannot fathom not having a remote control.


Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.


Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.


They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.


They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.


They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.


They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane, Boss, de plane".


They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.


McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.


They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

I don't remember some of those things as well.. thanks for making me feel young!!! :)

I do remember when caller ID was introduced!!! I would feel so important when answering the phone by saying the person's name. . . hehehe.

1987 is close enough to my birth year... but the two that are up top are wrong for me

i love jiffy pop! (tastes better and is more fun!)
and jaws scared me when i was little... and still does even though the discovery chanel has educated me... o yea, my mom had hard contact lenses, probably why she has glasses now!

but ive always had cabel, an answering machine, CD's (the small floppy disks were ousted when i was in kindergarden... I MISS NUMBER MUNCHERS!!!)

It's amazing how time passes. I was talking to my high school friends, and it's been 10 years since we graduated. WOW.

About the list, I remeber someone saying "John Paul II has been the only pope." (Until last year :sad: )

I was one of these days talking to a younger coweorker and told him "Watcha talkin' about, Willis?" and he didn't get the joke. He didn't even remeber ALF.

But today, I'm glad the Nick channel is showing again series like Mork & Mindy, The Addams Family, The Munsters and some others.

Since these programs aired up again, I've been automatically saying "shatba" everytime I hit my head on something. (which happens too often)
 
lol, for me, alf is just in commercials... i need to chech that show out on nick at night, i didnt know that they were showin that!

JR Ewing was shot on Dallas...i remember being like 7 yrs old and my parents were getting ready to go out and it was this huge debacle and everyone had to delay dinner plans because they had to watch what happened...no on demand and you were lucky if you could figure out how to program the vcr back then and end up with the right show on tape
