Well, I'm re-siliconing an old 55 gallon that I recieved as a donation when I used to work at my local fish store. It was getting a little 'iffy' on the old silicone, so I decided to redo it. I'm also making a new stand and canopy since the old ones are just about the worst I've ever seen.

Good news through all this is it came with a Bak-Pak (go figure, needs new pump and bio-bale), and retrofitted Hamilton 55w PC bulbs, along with 3 bags of Reef Crystals. Not a total piece of crap, eh? :)

I'm stuck on what to do with it. After much deliberation, I've narrowed it down to these choices:

-Brackish

-Community Salt

-African Cichlids (Peacock/other mix)

-Species Salt

So which would be best in your opinion? Ignore the salt and the Bak-Pak for now, I can easily get another HOB filter. I understand that its usually up to dedication and personal preference, but I'm dedicated enough to make it any one of them, and I'm sooo stuck

(I forgot how to make a poll  )

I'd vote for the cichlids...I like the variety and their movement...maybe some Apistos, quite an assortment available.

I'd vote African Cichlids. In stead of Malawians I'd go with the small Tanganyikans. Calvus, Leleupi, julis, brichardi,...
