Rams?

I have a 15 gallon tank with a male blue ram. I am currently looking for females,however, a few months ago i introduced females and they died within days. I dont know if it was my water or stress? But I find that female rams are hard to find because they are not as brightly colored as males. So could anyone tell me any more hints on buying females other than it has duller color than males a reddish stomach? Thx

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about?? The females shouldn't be harder to find and they are also very colorful. My avatar is a picture of a female German Blue Ram.

Yes I find females to be more colorful. I don't have any trouble finding them though. Do you have a Petco? Mine sells Bolivian, German Blues, and Golds. The pink belly is the easiest way to tell.

Another option would be to check AquaBid for Blue Rams and contact sellers to see if they'll sell Female Only or in some cases, they have actual breeder pairs available.

Yes i have a Petco but they tend to sell disease-sickened fish and they never have Ram. I guess i well keep looking.

Do you have any other fish stores?

I find a better selection of fish at the LFS other than petco or petsmart.
