Hello,
A friend of mine has a group of 6 Neolamprologus similis juveniles (sexes are unknown) that he might send my way, as he simply has too many. I'm wondering if a 20 gallon tank would suffice for housing these fish or if I would be better off with a 20 long instead. Any other information of experiences with these fish would be great to hear!
Thanks,
~Skap

You could do them in as small as a ten gallon, but a 20g long is ideal. I've never kept similis, but my multifasciatus (closely related) are some of my favorite fish. Start looking for shells now. Ideally the tank will be furnished with shells from wall to wall.

Thanks for the replies! I used to have a colony of multis in a 30 gallon, itwas quite a fun tank to watch. I might try World MArket for escargot shells... apparently, they sell 24 for $6.99.
