Can we have a modderator go over IN DETAIL how to report a bad post/troll. Including what not to do? There have been at least 5 threads on the recent pran problem and its getting rediculous. Its just feeding them. Even this post may serve to let them know they are getting to us, but I hope it serves a higher purpose. The main reason I started this was, in chat, a member told me they recieved a nasty PM from someone who they had openly nammed in a recent troll thread. There is a reason we can report threads privatly. I know it seems quite obvious that some of the recent ones are in fact trolls, but what happens when some really nice, carring, albeit gullible animal lover is told by a jokester at a pet store to add windex to his/her tank, that 30 gold fish in a 10 gallon is ok, or (insert bad advice of your choice)? They came here to ask advice, have a bunch of folks bash them, then they leave the forrum with a hatred and some 30 odd dead goldies, or sparkly streak free fish.
If I recall correctly, we are to report the thread, and post in said thread that it has been reported WITHOUT saing as to why. Thus allowing the MODS to determine who is a troll WITHOUT hurting feeling or chassing away people who might really be in need of some good advice. Or perhaps I missed when we changed the SOP to "make a thread bashing anyone who is suspect"
Within less tha 24 hours of reporting, the mods took care of the problem. I dont think thats too bad. Even If there were no mods online at the time it was reported.
